Maintenance Methods of Chain Hoist to Increase Work Efficiency

More preparation may quicken the speed in doing work, instead of wasting time. The daily maintenance of chain hoist will raise its working efficiency which is as follows:

  1. The hoist should be cleaned up and coated with anti-dust grease and stored in a dry place to prevent the chain hoist being rusted and corroded.

  2. Maintenance and overhaul should be done by personnel who are professional in it. The parts should be cleaned with kerosene. The part between the gear and the bearing should be greased. And assembling and dissembling of the chain hoist by someone who does not know the work principle of it should be prohibited.

  3. Only through the inspection and non-load test of hoist to make sure it works with secure braking, can it be put into use.

  4. The surface of the brake must be kept clean and the braking system should be checked regularly in case of brake failure and the objects should fall.

  5. The roller pins of the bearings for Chain sprocket can be stick to the inner bearing race which is installed in the neck of the shaft, and together they will be put in the outer bearing race.

  6. The ratchet wheel groove should be fit with the top of the pawl when the braking system is being installed, and the pawl should be controlled flexibly by springs. When the hand chain is pulled clockwise, the ratchet wheel and friction plate should be pressed tight on the brake pad. While if it is pulled anti clockwise, there should be some space between the ratchet wheel and the friction.

  7. One of the chain links should be left open in order to facilitate maintenance and disassembling.

  8. The surface of the friction plate should be kept clean and the braking performance should be checked in regular in case that there should be a braking failure, causing the fall of the objects.
